As the firm grew, so did its leadership, expanding to three principals whose collective expertise shapes our direction and defines our approach. The name “Trivium” reflects this convergence: three leaders, three perspectives, and multiple disciplines coming together with one unified vision. It also symbolizes the intersection of systems and ideas that drives our work. While our name has changed, our commitment to excellence, service, and long-standing client partnerships remains exactly the same.

Our team is on each project from start to finish. They perform the field inventory, meet and coordinate with the client and other design partners, and are on site during the construction period to ensure the successful delivery of each project.

On January 1, 2023, the firm ownership became Derek J. Guadagnolo, P.E., President, Joseph P. McCauley, P.E., Vice President, and new principal, Chad E. Loomis, P.E.
At the end of 2022, firm founder Philip A. Peterson, P.E., passed ownership of the firm to Derek J. Guadagnolo, P.E., and Joseph P. McCauley, P.E.
In 2019, Joseph P. McCauley, P.E. was named a partner in the firm.
In 2006, Derek J. Guadagnolo, P.E. was named the Vice President of Peterson Engineering P.C and the firm changed its name to Peterson Guadagnolo Consulting Engineers P.C.
In 2001, the firm relocated to its current location at 476 East Brighton Ave, Syracuse.
In 2000, the firm name changed to Peterson Engineering P.C.
In 1992, Philip A. Peterson, P.E., started the sole proprietor engineering firm named Philip A. Peterson P.E. Consulting Engineer. The firm was located at 709 Erie Blvd West in Syracuse.
