CHAD E. LOOMIS, P.E. Principal

Chad is a graduate of Tompkins Cortland Community College, where he earned an Associate of Science degree in Engineering Science. He recently returned to PGPC as a Professional Engineer, bringing with him extensive experience in electrical design. Chad previously worked at PGPC from February 1994 through November 2004, specializing in lighting, fire alarm systems, secondary electrical distribution, and standby power.

From 2004 to 2011, Chad served as a Senior Electrical Engineer at Cornell University. He then transitioned into a leadership role as Senior Associate Director in Student & Campus Life (SCL) Facilities Management from 2011 to 2019. Most recently, he was Director of Operations for the Facilities Operations and Management Group at Dartmouth College from 2019 until June 2022.

Chad has been a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) since 1995. He has served as both a Board Member and President of the Syracuse Chapter and led the revision of IES Recommended Practice RP-3, Lighting for Educational Facilities. He has also been a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) since 2000 and currently serves on the national committee for NFPA 110, Emergency Power Supply Systems. Additionally, Chad acts as the designated plan reviewer for elevators and vertical conveyances for the City of Syracuse.

Chad was named a Principal at PGPC in January 2023.
