Joe graduated with honors from Clarkson University in 2010, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He began his career here in 2008 as a student intern. Over the course of two summers, he contributed to a variety of projects, including a central chilled water plant expansion, elevator modernizations, fire protection systems, and a university science building renovation.
In his time here, Joe has served in a supporting role, as a lead designer, and/or project manager on several projects for district energy plants including system-wide custody metering upgrades, chiller plant expansions, pump system replacements, water treatment system upgrades, high pressure natural gas regulating station installations, control room and office renovations, field erected boiler upgrades, packaged boiler installations, deaerator replacements, compressed air system upgrades, snow melt systems, large and small building plumbing, fire protection, and HVAC system upgrades, and many other projects. Joe became a licensed Professional Engineer in 2015 and a partner in December of 2019.
Recently, Joe has led several projects involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection upgrades at a local collegiate stadium to modernize locker room facilities, upgrade concession stands, renovate restrooms, and create new and improved fan experience areas. Joe has also served as lead designer and project manager for multiple remote restroom/team room facilities at isolated collegiate athletics fields. Most recently, he was the Principal-in-Charge for a major project at Syracuse University to convert a 200+ bed hotel into a Residence Hall.
Joe is an active member of several professional organizations, including the International District Energy Association (IDEA), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE).
Joe was named Vice President of the firm in December 2022.
