The renovation of the Cantor Gallery, completed in early 2025, encompassed approximately 4,200 square feet and included both the expansion and modernization of the existing display areas. The project featured a comprehensive upgrade to gallery lighting and control systems, the installation of a new HVAC heat pump with updated controls, and enhanced ADA accessibility for the expanded space.
Lighting upgrades emphasized ease of maintenance—with all museum-grade, LED-based lamps offering high color accuracy (rather than integrated LED fixtures)—as well as system flexibility, achieved through interchangeable lenses, beam spreaders, and softeners. Controls were also simplified to support long-term serviceability.
A forward-looking approach to exhibit versatility was central to the design: the renovated space includes multiple opportunities for integrating audiovisual and digital technologies into future art installations.
