The steam distribution project involves relocating the D-Line distribution main located within the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) I-81 Right-of-Way to align with the NYS I-81 Community Grid Project. The work is being executed in three phases to coordinate with the broader I-81 construction schedule. Phase One was completed in 2024; Phase Two is currently under construction, and Phase Three is scheduled to begin upon completion.
The project includes approximately 900 linear feet of underground steam distribution required to accommodate the new highway alignment. In addition to steam distribution, the scope also includes the relocation of fiber optic communications, district chilled water lines, and site improvements outside the NYSDOT limits.
