Huyland is a 1998 graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology (Boston, MA), where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design, and a 1994 graduate of Onondaga Community College where he received an Associate degree in Applied Arts. He joined the firm in 2006. Prior to joining, he worked as an HVAC designer and drafter for RAM-TECH Engineers.
Throughout his career, Huyland has contributed to a wide range of projects, including the replacement of domestic hot water storage systems for apartment complexes, underground electric and communication services for dormitories, temporary steam services to hospitals, and residential HVAC and plumbing renovations. He has also performed plumbing and HVAC design for large-scale toilet room renovation projects.
Huyland’s expertise encompasses HVAC and plumbing design for classrooms, laboratories, guest rooms, dining halls / kitchens, and office spaces. His work includes heat load calculations, equipment selection, as well as ductwork and piping design.
Huyland has prepared alternative analyses, sketches, and Opinions of Probable Construction Cost for HVAC improvements and concept designs. He is experienced in the development of construction drawings and specifications, managing projects through multiple phases.
